Woman Makes 29 Calls To 911 In One Week For Non-Emergencies
Memphis) Fifty year old Luverne Fox had time to think about whether her 911 calls were really an emergency or not over the past few days as she sat behind bars.
Fox was arrested Sunday after Memphis police say she called 911 seven times Sunday.
They claim she had already called 911 that week 22 times.
According to the affidavit, Fox was upset because her lease was ending July 3rd.
An employee for the apartment complex told News Channel 3 Fox was causing problems, so they are not renewing her lease.
MPD said when they went to arrest Fox Sunday, she fought her way out of handcuffs.
She was arrested, and is behind bars on a $100 bond.
Raymond Chiozza from Shelby County Emergency Communications said 911 abuse happens too often, “I just think people don’t think sometimes. Sometimes they will call for dogs barking and just things like that, sometimes they will call wanting to know the scores of games.”
Fox is facing charges for disorderly conduct, making non emergency 911 calls and resisting official detention.
