Immigration Debate

Officers in Arizona will still be required to check a person’s Immigration Status while investigating other crimes.  The “Show Me Your Papers” Provision which is the most controversial part of Arizona’s Immigration Law will stay in place, even though the Supreme Court yesterday threw out almost everything else.  Five other states have similar laws including three in the South, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.  Mauricio Calvo heads up the Latino Memphis Organization here.
