How To Build A House In Five Days

(Memphis) Friday some Memphis builders were putting the finishing touches on five homes they built in just five days in the Oakhaven area.

It’s all part of a National Homebuilders Blitz to put hundreds of families in need in new homes.

Six area builders volunteered their time to build the five homes in the Trinity Park Subdivision, Memphis Habitat’s first planned development.

Some crews had to work through the night to get all the work done.

James Reid with Reid Homes says he’s never built a house this fast.

He says it took teamwork.

“Monday morning when it was a slab I was thinking there is no way there will be a house here Friday, but here it is,” said Reid.

Today, some of the new owner’s got their first look at their new homes and even helped put down the sod on the front yard.

Some of them will move in over the next week.
