Police: Mom Who Was High Drives Off With Baby On Roof
(Phoenix KPHO) A Valley mother has been arrested for allegedly leaving her baby in a car seat on top of the vehicle roof and then driving off.
Catalina Clouser, 19, made admissions to what had occurred and was arrested and later booked into jail for one count aggravated DUI and one count of child abuse.
Phoenix Police Officer James Holmes said they responded to 45th Avenue and Cholla in response to a baby that had been found by witnesses strapped in a child safety seat and laying in the middle of the intersection.
“The baby was all nice and tucked in and nothing was wrong with him, thank goodness,” said Leilani Gerlach, a neighbor who found the infant.
The 5-week-old infant was transported to a local hospital and found to be uninjured. While investigating at the scene, two other witnesses, identified as friends to the suspect and her boyfriend, arrived on foot and began speaking with officers.
