Walgreens Customers Held Hostage During Robbery

(Collierville, TN) Four people are in custody after a robbery at a Walgreens where several people were held hostage. 

It happened at the store on Byhalia Road in Collierville, TN, just after 10 Monday night. 

“Well that’s a good thing nobody got hurt,” said Tonya Goodman who shops at the store and was shocked to hear about Monday night’s daring robbery.

One the customers told us he was approached by a masked man with a pistol who demanded his cell phone.

He  said he was then led to the photo section of the store and told to lie down along with the 10 to 15 other customers.

Understandably, some of the customers were crying and appeared terrified

We were told the female manager asked the robbers not to bother the customers  because she was the only one with the code to the safe.

Eventually one of the robbers went to the office and came out dragging a large bag the

customer thought was full of money.

The customer said the robbers eventually locked him and the other shoppers inside that same office.

That’s when the manager called 9-1-1 for help.

Collierville police were on the scene before the suspects could get away said Lt. Philip Arnold, ”They initially found two suspects that were in a vehicle outside in the parking lot. and two additional suspects were apprehended as they exited the store.”

Three men and a woman were arrested, all are from Memphis and are being held on charges of aggravated robbery.
