(Cordova) A child rape charge has been added to the list of charges against a man suspected of a series of rapes in the Cordova area.

Anthony Alliano has been indicted on rape of a child, multiple charges of aggravated rape, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated burglary, attempt aggravated rape and aggravated robbery.

We've been told a child was raped May 21, 2003 in the 1500 block of Beaver Trail.

The suspect, who police later identified as Alliano,  was wearing a mask and armed with a knife and raped the child victim.

Police say tips led them to the 41-year-old after they released surveillance photos of the suspect.

Investigators recently matched the suspect’s DNA to six attacks beginning in 2003.

In a 2010 incident, that took place on Oak Springs Drive, the attacker stole the victim’s credit card then used it at a store.

Officers pulled surveillance video from the store to get a picture of the suspect they released to the news media.

After officers arrested Alliano, someone who saw him use the card picked Alliano out of a photo lineup.

Previously, Alliano was charged with statutory rape after he was discovered in a hotel room with a 16-year-old girl.

He admitted to having sex with the girl, but the case was later dismissed.

In 2004, he was also convicted of simple assault in another case and put on probation.
