Whitehaven Man Critically Injured in Fire

(Memphis) A man suffered serious burns when his Whitehaven home caught fire early this morning.

Fire investigators say a cooking fire flared up in the kitchen around 12:30 a.m. then spread to the rest of the house located in the 3700 block of Hillridge St.

The 52-year-old victim was taken to the Med with second-degree burns on his head and face.

The fire caused an estimated $35,000 in damage.
