Scott Day

(Germantown, TN) The co-owner of the popular “Butcher Shop” restaurant, 42-year-old Scott Day, has been arrested after a standoff in a Germantown neighborhood.

Neighbors called police after hearing a woman screaming near Day’s home in the 8400 block of Creekbridge Cove in Germantown.

“She said screeching. Somebody yelling for help, call 911. She ran to the top of the driveway, she saw a woman running from the home,” said John Fisher who came to the neighborhood when his sister called him around 11 Thursday night.

Germantown Police told us this all started after Day assaulted his girlfriend inside the home.

They said when they responded they were told Day was still inside the home.

Officers attempted, for close to 6 hours, to contact Day before going into the home and finding he wasn’t there.

“We did not find him in the house. It’s apparent to us that sometime between when the call was placed and our response initially, either the information we had not been totally accurate about him returning to his residence, but before we were able to get our resources in place he left the residence,” said Deputy Chief Rodney Bright.

Day was taken into custody later in the morning at his parents’ home, not too far away.

Day is charged with Domestic assault.

The woman and child were not seriously injured.

“It literally looked like the entire metro police force were preparing for a war. They had helmets, automatic weapons, and they were scrambling around preparing for whatever they were going to do,” said Fisher.
