School Merger Committee Member Arrested
(Southaven, MS) Mike Marlin brought his girls to bowl at Cotton Bowl Lanes, not long after police confirmed the lanes owner Thomas Hart was locked up.
Hart was charged with embezzlement after money disappeared from the pot from a bowling league tournament.
Each league put up cash to go to the tournament winner but when that time came the money was gone.
“I bowled here a long time. It’s strange,” said Marlin.
Police arrested Hart, the same man appointed to the committee to help merge Memphis and Shelby County schools.
The former county commissioner is in jail, where the bowlers here say is the safest place for him.
