(Memphis) A Memphis man is behind bars on a one million dollar bond, after police say he tortured three men, over a nine-hour span, in a home in North Memphis.

Cornelius Banks, who is 31-years-old, faces dozens of charges including, aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and especially aggravated robbery.

Police say three men were tied up and beaten for nine hours, while four men robbed their home on Orr Street.

According to the police records, the three victims were also sexually assaulted and police believe Cornelius Banks is one of the rapists.

The news, puts neighbor Carrie Donaldson at a loss for words, “Oh my goodness, that sounds bad. That’s scary.”

But the story doesn’t stop there, neighbors who didn’t want to go on camera, told us Banks has a connection to another crime.

They claim he was one of the men inside a car that drove to a nearby fire station after the car was shot-up on Saturday.

The shooting happened just two days after the violent home invasion.

“We try to bring the neighborhood back together, clean up the lots down here and then somebody try to do something like this, its unreal,” said resident Tim Townsend.

Not just unreal, but sick said neighbor Roger Clayton.

Still, he told us despite what he feels is a growing crime problem in his neighborhood, he believes his savior will protect him, “I got faith in Jesus.  You know we’re not supposed to be barricaded up in the house, that`s not comfortable, that`s not the way Jesus wants us to be.”

Police have not confirmed to News Channel 3 if Banks is one of those people shot in the car Saturday.

According to the report, the victims identified at least one other suspect in this torturous ordeal, that person has not been charged with anything at this time.
