Former Library Director Injured While Running
(DeSoto County, MS) Former First Regional Library director Jim Anderson was running through a South Hernando neighborhood Monday night when the accident occurred.
He’s said to be improving and in good spirits at Baptist East, while the investigation into what happened moves forward.
There’s not much room for error along Scott Road.
Even the most experienced runners could have problems along the road’s uneven shoulder.
DeSoto Sheriff Bill Rasco said so far, his investigation shows it was probably an accident due to uneven pavement,”He was running and slipped on the edge of it and turned and fell and hit his head on the asphalt”.
A rather large blood spot remains on the road where Anderson apparently fell.
Rasco said the lack of blood spatter suggests an accident.
Meantime, Anderson is said to be resting and recovering at Baptist East.
Sheriff Rasco said he won’t wrap up his investigation until he talks to Anderson, ”We’re still investigating the situation and when we get to the part we can sit down and talk to Mr. Anderson and find out what he can remember and what he can’t remember then we’ll piece it all together”.
Full recovery may take a while, since Mr. Anderson reportedly had a skull fracture and bleeding on the brain.
As of this morning he was said to be sitting up, talking and doing well.
