The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a former Jackson, TN Police Department officer for filing a false report.

This came after he was indicted by the Madison County Grand Jury yesterday.

Travis Hass was arrested in Chattanooga.

On June 3, 2010, Hass reported that he had been shot while on patrol on Lawrence Switch Road in Jackson.

Hass said he struggled with the two attackers over his gun and was shot four times; once in the left shoulder, once in the right thigh and twice in his ballistic vest and radioed for assistance.

According to the TBI, “On July 6, 2010, the District Attorney General requested TBI to investigate the incident after the Jackson Police Department recognized inconsistencies in what was reported to have happened to Hass. He later resigned from the department. Hass was charged with filing the false report for giving incorrect information about the incident.”
