(Memphis) A man caught on camera and suspected of six rapes looks like someone you might know.

"I don`t know him but I was like 'Oh my God, it looks like one of my dad`s employees,'" said Cordova resident Savannah Austin. "But it's not."

And that could be why police say they've gotten several tips on who the man might be.

He's accused of serial rape, attacking six women in Cordova over the last decade.

Investigators say his DNA has linked him to the crimes.

The last assault they know about happened in a residential area on Oak Springs Drive in 2010.

"I was really stunned and upset about it when I heard about it," said Brenda Caples, who lives on Oak Springs Drive and heard about the rapist on the news over the weekend.

Police say, in one case, the man held a knife to a woman's throat, sexually assaulted her and stole her credit card. The surveillance video of him was taken when he was using that card.

"When you think of rapists, it's kind of like a typical big 80s glasses and long hair and dirty," said Austin. "That`s what I think about. But not this guy.  He looks normal."

Austin says she's keeping mace in her glove box and residents on Oak Springs say they are keeping their eyes open.

"Exactly!" said Caples. "I don`t want to be the next victim."

Police say while the last attack they know about was two years ago, investigators only recently connected all six rapes to the same DNA profile.

If you think you know who he is, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
