Motorcyclist Collides With Car; Witnesses Say Alcohol Involved

A motorcycle rider is in the hospital after his bike collided with a car pulling out of a drive way on Richmond Road in Shelby County. The Suzuki motorcycle rider, Keith Smith, has road rash over his entire body and possible head trauma because he was not wearing a helmet. A witness on the scene said Smith had just left a party on the street prior to the accident and had drunk a beer and a couple of mixed drinks. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says charges are pending.
