Two people Shot, Drive To Fire Station For Help
(Memphis) Memphis police are investigating a double shooting in North Memphis that sent two people to the hospital,battling for their lives, Saturday.
Saturday, Family and friends emotionally reacted car, splattered in blood, windows shot out and riddled with bullet holes.
They rushed from Lambert and Chelsea to the hospital, where there the two people who were inside the car, are now.
Police aren’t saying much, but tell News Channel 3, the two people inside were struck several times.
“The shooting did not happen at this location, it happened at another location and the subjects drove to the firehouse to seek medical assistance,” said Lt. Col. Michael Hardy, with the Memphis Police Department.
About two miles away, police also investigated outside a home on Orr.
Neighbors told News Channel 3 they woke up to about eight gunshots.
The shots they say they heard, rang out just minutes before firefighters called police to tell them about the two people inside the car.
Back at Lamar and Chelsea, dozens gathered to figure out what happened on a sunny day.
“It’s so discouraging, disgusting, you see that and you think why do we keep hurting each other.” said Barbara Johnson. Johnson was driving down the street when she saw police investigating and pulled over to see what was going on.
“I just hope this is the end of it, its terrible, terrible, terrible.” expressed Johnson.
Trying to piece things together, police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
“Anyone involved in this kind of behavior we don’t want them walking the streets of Memphis,” said Hardy.
“People who stood by and watch as police worked, are asking for help, from above.
“We will certainly get down and pray for peace and love,” said Johnson.
