Shot Fired During Dollar General Robbery
(Memphis) Memphis Police are looking for two masked men who they say tried to rob a Dollar General on Third Street sometime before lunch.
One of them even fired his gun.
“That’s scary,” said Debra Hodges. “That’s dangerous, that’s real bad.”
Luckily, no one was hurt and police say the robbers got away with absolutely nothing.
They disappeared into the woods behind the store.
“It’s crazy because its right behind my house,” said Hodges. “They built the Dollar General right there and every time they rob it, they jump through that fence, come through the woods and end up out front (of my house).”
Police spent a lot of time at Hodges house after some evidence was found near her fence.
They were interested in her son and placed him in the back of a squad car.
“I guess because he is young and we live here,” she said. “We were at the door and they want to ask him some questions because they said it was a young guy that did it. So he just came out here and answered their questions and they let him go.”
Police continued to search the South Memphis neighborhood, walking the area, even using police dogs to track the robbers scent, but unfortunately, they came up with nothing.
“I hope they do catch them because thats crazy,” said Hodges. “I’m too close for that because every time they do it, they jump the fence. I hope they catch them.”
