Hunter Lane, Jr. Passes Away
(Memphis) A man who made a name for himself in the Memphis political scene has died.
Hunter Lane, Jr. was elected commissioner of public service on the old Memphis city commission. He pushed for the charter commission and even ran for mayor.
Lane was elected to the Memphis School Board in 1971 and served as the board’s president.
He leaves behind a wife, two sons and a daughter. Hunter Lane, Jr. was 82 years old.
