Father Shot And Killed On Porch

(Memphis)— A Memphis father is shot to death on his front porch and police are trying to piece together who did it.

You see crime scene tape is stuffed in the dumpster next to this home on Eldridge… you also see family and friends trying to hide their pain.

“They had a good relationship. “ said Shoneka Williams. She is bracing to tell her 7-year old-son words no mother wants to say. Her son’s father 33-year-old Demarco Gilmore is dead, shot and killed by someone police are searching for now.

“I have to tell him something. I don’t know what to tell him right now I don’t know when or how.” Said expressed Williams.

Police say, late Saturday night, Gilmore answered the door for a man, he was shot several times in the doorway.

The dad was rushed to the Med, but he didn’t make it.

“Its amazing how they say it happened, how they just walked up on the porch and started shooting.” Said longtime friend, Tony Brown. “I feel real bad because he was a good friend of mine, real bad.”

A friend he described as a hard-worker, one who loved to play basketball and spend time with his kids.

“Pray for them, pray for us.” Expressed Brown.

It’s a lot going on through my mind. I just want to know who did it that’s all I want to know

Williams says that reason will never be good enough for her, or her 7-year-old son now, growing up without a father.
